The programming language which is used is Python and the developer is OpenAI. By January 2023, ChatGPT had become the fastest-growing consumer software application in history and gaining over 100 million users in two months. The chatbot can facilitate academic dishonesty, generate misinformation, and create malicious code. The ethics of its development, particularly the use of copyrighted content as training data, have also drawn controversy. ChatGPT is one of the most visited websites globally, and recent reports from August and September 2025 indicate it is on track to reach or has already surpassed 700 million weekly active users.
