The 7 time-constructor’s champions Mercedes AMG Petronas F1 team started of very strong by scoring maximum points as possible in the opening fixture of 2026 Formula 1 season. The Pre-season favourite- George Russell put on a crazy Qualifying lap on Saturday, clinched his 6th F1 grand prix win on Sunday. The Italian- Andrea Kimi Antonelli achieved his 4th career podium by finishing just 2-seconds behind his fellow teammate. The Ferrari man Charles Leclerc finished P3 after getting a good launch at the start where he managed to lead the race, but the team messed up the strategies. Lewis Hamilton finished P4 after a tough qualifying session on Saturday. The Defending champion Lando Norris had a tough race finishing P5, while his teammate Oscar Piastri crashed into the barriers in the formation lap in his home race. In this race we also saw the rookie Arvid Lindblad scoring points on his debut. Nico Hulkenberg’s first race with his new team Audi F1 team ended in vein due to a battery problem. Isack Hadjar on his Red Bull debut did not score points as well due to engine problem. Valtteri Bottas and Fernando Alonso faced the same issues.
